Agreement
By downloading, installing, or using Trace (the "App"), you agree to these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App. The App is operated by Alberto Luján Ruiz, sole trader, Spain.
Description of service
Trace is a private, two-person iOS application that lets a couple share a monthly analog-style photo roll. Each user takes up to 27 photos per month — one per day on days 1 through 27 — using the in-app camera only. At 20:00 local time on the last day of the month, both rolls become visible to the partner. The App auto-generates a short vertical video at reveal time, which the user may share to social platforms.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Trace.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use.
Pairing
- You can only have one active partner at a time.
- Either of you can dissolve the pairing unilaterally from Settings.
- Dissolution stops new photos but does not delete the historical album from either side.
- The bond can be restored within 60 days. After 60 days, dissolution is permanent.
- After dissolving, you must wait 24 hours before re-pairing with the same user.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Trace for any unlawful purpose, including to capture, store, or transmit illegal content (notably any child sexual abuse material — we have zero tolerance and will report such content to the authorities).
- Use Trace to harass, threaten, defame, or abuse another person, including your partner.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App.
- Bypass or attempt to bypass the in-app camera or the daily / monthly capture limits.
- Access, attempt to access, or modify another user's data outside of the features provided.
- Redistribute, sublicense, or resell the App.
- Use the App to transmit malicious code or to disrupt the service.
Content ownership and licence
You retain full ownership of the photos and personal information you upload to Trace. By using the App, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process, and display your content for the sole purpose of operating the App's features (delivering your photos to your paired partner at reveal time, composing the reveal video, generating thumbnails, etc.).
We never use your photos for advertising, never sell them, and never make them visible outside your pairing.
Subscriptions, billing & refunds
Plans
- Yearly: €49.99 per year (≈ €0.96 per week), billed annually through Apple.
- Weekly: €9.99 per week, billed weekly through Apple.
Prices vary by region and currency; the App Store always displays the final price before you confirm the purchase. There is no free trial.
One subscription per couple
Trace is subscribed per couple, not per person. The partner who starts the roll subscribes at the end of onboarding; the invited partner accepts the invitation and pays nothing. The couple is considered subscribed while at least one of its two members holds an active subscription.
What the subscription unlocks
- Opening each monthly roll. An active couple subscription is required to start shooting a new month.
- Full visibility of both rolls at each monthly reveal, the auto-generated reveal video, and the historical album for every roll you opened.
Your own photos are always visible to you, free, with no subscription required.
Auto-renewal
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings. Uninstalling the App does not cancel the subscription.
Opened rolls are yours forever
If you cancel, both of you keep full access to every monthly roll you already opened, indefinitely. Cancelling only means you cannot open new rolls until you subscribe again. Each opened roll's full access is definitive and irreversible.
If your partner never joins
Your invitation never expires, and your subscription is not consumed by waiting: if your partner has not accepted within 7 days of your purchase, contact us and we will either re-arm your first roll so it starts the month your partner actually joins, or walk you through Apple's refund process — your choice. You will not lose what you paid because your partner was slow to join.
Refunds
All purchases are handled by Apple. To request a refund, contact Apple support: reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue App Store refunds directly, but if something went wrong — including the "my partner never joined" case above — email us and we will make it right or support your refund request.
Service availability
We strive to keep Trace available 24/7 but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may suspend the App for maintenance, security, or legal reasons.
Disclaimer of warranties
Trace is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Alberto Luján Ruiz shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of data, loss of profits, or emotional distress — arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App.
Our total liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the greater of (a) €50 or (b) the amount you paid for your subscription in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Termination
You can stop using Trace at any time and delete your data from Settings → Delete my data. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Changes to the Terms
We may modify these Terms. Material changes will be communicated in-app. Continued use of the App after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
Governing law & jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Valencia, Spain, without prejudice to consumer rights granted by the law of your country of residence.
