Introduction

Burnt ("we", "our", or "us") is an expense tracking app developed by Alberto Luján Ruiz. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use Burnt.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Name: Your first name, entered during onboarding. Stored locally on your device.
• Expense Data: Amounts, names, categories, and dates of expenses you log. Stored locally on your device using SQLite.
• Subscription Data: Names, amounts, and renewal dates of subscriptions you track. Stored locally on your device.
• Preferences: Your selected theme, currency, and notification settings. Stored locally on your device.

Information Collected Automatically

• Analytics Data: We use PostHog to collect anonymous usage analytics, such as which features you use, how often you open the app, and your onboarding quiz answers. This data is anonymized and cannot be used to identify you personally.
• Subscription Status: We use RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions. RevenueCat processes your purchase through Apple's App Store and may collect transaction-related data as described in their privacy policy.

Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect your bank account information.
• We do not collect your credit card or payment card details.
• We do not access your contacts, photos, or location.
• We do not sell your data to third parties.

Data Storage

All your expense data, subscription data, and personal preferences are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to this data. If you delete the app, this data is permanently deleted.

If you choose to sign in with Apple or Google (optional), your authentication is handled by Apple/Google respectively. We store only a minimal user identifier to manage your subscription status.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• PostHog (analytics): Collects anonymized usage data. PostHog Privacy Policy

• Apple App Store: Processes payments for subscriptions. Apple Privacy Policy

Your Rights

You can:

• Delete all your data at any time from Settings → Delete all data within the app.
• Export your data as a CSV file (Pro feature).
• Opt out of analytics by disabling analytics in your device settings.
• Cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID settings.

Children's Privacy

Burnt is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
